RIO DE JANEIRO: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited the Brazil Army Headquarters on Tuesday.

He was presented guard of honor and 19 guns salute. General Raheel Sharif met with Brazil’s Army Commander.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual professional interest and military to military relations were discussed during the meeting.

Army Chief also held a meeting with Chief of Joint Staff Brazil Armed Forces, General Jose Carlos De Nardi and discussed regional security, emerging challenges and training exchanges.

Chief of Joint Staff Brazil Armed Forces lauded Pakistan Army's professionalism and operational achievements specially in on-going counter terrorism operations.

Army chief also met defense minister of Brazil and discussed ways and means for bolstering cooperation in the filed of defence.

General Raheel Sharif said “we want to further fortify our cooperation with Brazil. He also invited defence minister of Brazil to visit Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion Gen Raheel Sharif said “we want to further strengthen our ties with Brazil. Pakistan army is continuing war against terrorism successfully and Pakistan will soon get rid of menace of terrorism.
