LAHORE: PTI Punjab organizer Chaudhary Sarwar yesterday announced to move to courts against the Returning Officers (ROs) who changed the results in favour of the ruling party during second-phase of local bodies’ polls.

Addressing a press conference at chairman secretariat, Sarwar also announced to move against the Election Commission for not playing its role to efficiently monitor what he called the rigging of the ROs.

“The Returning Officers in Gujranwala, Sheikhupura and Hafizabad changed the results on the dictates of the ruling party,” alleged Imran Khan Punjab captain.

“The ROs are changing results in different union councils of Punjab in which PTI candidates are winning with a lead of 50 votes,” he claimed.

“It is now beyond a shadow of doubt that 18,000 votes were transferred out of NA-122 and 22,000 into this constituency before the by-polls. The Election Commission has record of only 812 votes,” he said, adding that the government was using this tactic time and again to win the elections.

Sarwar said the Election Commission would lose its credibility if it did not act against the shifting of voters in NA-122.
