NWA IDPs set up protest camp against FDMA

PESHAWAR - The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan on Monday set up a protest camp against the authorities concerned of FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) for non-provision of relief assistance.
They said that the inhabitants of five tehsiles, including Spin Wam, Razmak, Doselli, Garyum and Shewa were compelled to leave their homes due to the military operation launched in North Waziristan Agency.
The tribesmen belonging to Mehsud tribe regretted that thousands of militancy-hit people had taken refuge in makeshift camps at various parts of the country, where they were being confronted with immense difficulties. They said the FDMA completed registration of the affectees but despite that they were not provided food package or any other relief assistance.
The IDPs also staged a protest demonstration outside the PPC, urging Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the plight of the children, elders and women who had to leave their ancestral places. The IDPs demanded that the government should immediately compensate the affected people.
