The Gilgit Baltistan government recently appointed 650 new teachers in the Education Department on merit basis after the screening of several eligible candidates from National Testing Service (NTS). It was a challenge for Muslim League-N government of Gilgit Baltistan, to induct new teachers in educational sector on merit. However, Chief Minister GB Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman and Secretary Education Sanaullah have eliminated the chances of corruption during this process. It will be helpful to flourish the education system in Gilgit Baltistan as well as an improvement in the conditions of government schools.

This act of CM Gilgit Baltistan has widely been hailed by the people of the entire area. Unfortunately, some hundreds of vacant posts in education sector were sold out like a purchasable commodity during the last tenure of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Gilgit Baltistan. Later on, almost a majority of illegally inducted teachers were terminated by the government. It is heard that the aforesaid teachers involved in this case have approached the court against the corruption done by the authorities of the department of education for justice. The Gilgit Balstistan government is supposed to follow the merit while fulfilling the vacant post in different departments of Gilgit Baltistan like education department.
