RAWALPINDI -The legal fraternity Thursday finalized arrangements for the proposed address of the deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry at District Bar Association (DBA) Rawalpindi on November 3 in a meeting held at the Bar Hall. In the general body meeting of DBA, the lawyers planned to motivate the common people and civil society members to participate in the convention of the lawyers on the day when a military dictator proclaimed emergency last year curbing independence of judiciary and curtailing civil liberties.      President DBA Sardar Tariq Masood said on November 3 after the address of the CJ they would take out rally on Constitution Avenue, passing through Benazir Bhutto Road and hoped large number of people, students, political workers, traders and the civil society groups would join them. He said that on November 3 no one would be allowed to bring his vehicle in the premises of district courts, even the judicial officers would be requested to spare the space for the gathering. He said there was a great need to mobilize the public as they had done at the time of long march. Chaudhry Masood advocate had been assigned to interact with Pakistan Peoples Party workers, Taufiq Asif advocate and Sanaullah Zahid advocate with Jamat-e-Islami, Shahbaz Rajput advocate with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Razaq Mirza advocate and Khalid Bhatti advocate with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The political workers would be urged to participate in the convention of the lawyers. Sardar Asmatullah President Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) will contact the doctors' association, while Sheikh Suleman advocate, Malik Yasir advocate, Shahbaz Rajput and Malik Waheed Anjum advocate would mobilize business community in the city. Sardar Gondal advocate would interact with the civil society and Qayyum Turabi advocate, Hafiz Shahid and Ghulam Ali Farooq advocate will speak to the students of seminaries. Shahbaz Rajput and Intizar Mehdi are nominated to coordinate with media persons, while Malik Imran, Sanaullah Zahid and Nasir Shahzad would hold camps in Sadar, Liaqat Bagh and at the courts. DBA president said as there was need to mobilize people through announcement on loud speaker fixed on taxi. Sardar Tariq Masood would head the finance committee. Sanaullah Zahid would chair security committee. He would manage the security along with 50 lawyers.  Basharat Ullah Khan, Sardar Tariq Masood and Shafqat Ali Bhatti would manage the food committee. Meanwhile, complete boycott was observed both at district courts and Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench.
