LAHORE - Justice Tariq Shamim of Lahore High Court has ordered registration of a case against Dr Muhammad Akram of Akram Hospital, Hafizabad, as due to his wrong treatment, a patient lost sight of one eye, a tooth and his jawbone was also defected.   The Judge also directed the SHO to submit compliance report of the order before the court. The Judge ordered the registration of a case against Dr Akram on a petition moved by a teacher Munir Ahmad. The petitioner said he had approached the Akram Hospital after having tooth pain where first doctor removed his tooth without his approval as he (doctor) injected intoxication that made him (petitioner) unconscious. The petitioner said Dr Akram is not a dental surgeon and was not competent to conduct an operation. Munir also alleged that the doctor to conceal his wrongdoing provided some un-prescribed medicines to him and due to use of that he (petitioner) lost sight of his left eye and his jawbone also became defective. The petitioner said for restoration of his health he got treatment from different hospitals of Hafizabad and Lahore and paid heavy charges and also suffered mental and physical torture as his face had also disfigured.   He said that he moved an application for registration of a case against Dr Akram but the SHO did not take any action. He said for registration of a case, he had moved a petition before the sessions judge Hafizabad who had disposed of his petition with directions to the DPO and the SHO that they should proceed in accordance with law. Munir said even after the court directions the police officials did nothing. He requested that the directions be issued to the police officials for registration of a case against Dr Akram under sections 336 & 506 of Pakistan Penal Code.
