A partial strike is being observed on Friday in metropolis in response to the call given by the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) to condemn the lawlessness, forced hike in power tariff, unscheduled load-shedding and the ongoing economic crisis in the country. Jamiat Ulema-I-Isalm (JUI), Sunnit Tehrik (ST), PML-N, Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party (STTP), Tehrik-e-Insaf and other parties had announced to support the strike call given by JI. However, transporters have not joined the strike. Meanwhile, all educational activities and government offices are open in the city. The traffic is below normal, while passengers were seen traveling on top of the buses. People are holding protests at various localities in city against raise in power tariff and prolonged load-shedding.
