Our Staff Reporter HAFIZABAD - Former JUI-F Punjab Ameer and renowned religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Altaf died here after protracted illness. He was 85. Currently he was Member Central Executive Council of JUI-F and had close relations with JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He was patron of Almi Majlis Khatam-e-Nubowat. His Nama-e-Janaza was offered Sunday afternoon on Kutchery Road near Fowara Chowk. The funeral was attended by large number of his admirers, religious & political workers. He was laid to rest in the compound of Madrasa Asharfia Qurania Vanike Road, Hafizabad. Most of the shops remained close to pay respect of the great religious scholar. Winning of UNSC seat greeted: Local, political and social workers have celebrated the winning of Security Council seat by Pakistan and congratulated President Asif Zardari, PM Yousuf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar for their efforts rendered for winning the prestigious seat of UNSC by getting 129 votes out of 193, which is historic success of the present regime. They said that it also belied allegations of Pakistans isolation as alleged by the opponents.
