Two men who killed 252 arrested

KARACHI - Police claimed to have arrested two high-value slayers, who killed some 252 people, following a shootout near the shrine of saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi on Sunday. Identified as Zakir Hussain alias Adeel Agha or Yasir Dada and Gull Mohammad alias Gullu, the killers were said to be affiliated with a political party. SHO Shafiq Tanoli said they confessed to having killed some 252 people, including political workers and security personnel. Groups of target killers are being operated from South Africa, the two slayers were quoted as having said in their confession. There are some 20 groups of target killers and each group comprises 25 members. According to police officials, two kalashnikovs, two 8mm rifles, two 9mm pistols and two TT pistols were seized from the accused, who were arrested in the jurisdiction of the Clifton Police Station. The accused were heading somewhere on a motorcycle when a police party intercepted them. The team repulsed the attack when they were fired upon. SHO Tanoli said that DSP Raheem Bangash, DSP Nawaz Ranjha and Inspector Nasirul Hassan and many other policemen had been killed by the two assassins. The senior officer said that Ajmal Pahari, Shakir and Javed Bunda were also close associates of Zakir Hussain. According to the SHO, Zakir Hussain had escaped to South Africa in 1994 after killing 27 people. He returned in 2007 on the instructions of his party leaders, concluded Tanoli. Woman dies, man injured in road accidents: A woman died while a man got injured in different road accidents in the wee hours of Sunday at Super Highway, Chhipa sources said. They said a woman Abida Khatoon wife of Abdul Aziz died when her car fell down from a bridge after getting hit by a bus at the highway. Her body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. In another accident a young man Sani got injured when two vehicles collided head on. The injured was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
