Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should have taken the opposition parties into confidence before his visit to the US, adding that he should secure national interests through his visit.
Talking to journalists here at Multan Airport on Wednesday, he added that the prime minister should have talked about Pakistan’s security and nuclear technology instead of drones. He said that Pakistan needed trade and not aid from the US.
To a query on Afghanistan, he said that a stable and secure Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan was worst hit by the terrorism and the country suffered numerous losses because of this menace.
To another question on his kidnapped son, he said that the extremists kidnapped him in reaction of Swat and Malakand operations. “They demand release of their comrades for the release of my son,” he added.
