Islamabad- Islamabad High Court (IHC) has indefinitely adjourned the hearing of contempt of court petition against the former president Asif Ali Zardari due to non presence of the petitioner.

IHC  bench comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan took up for hearing petition filed by the petitioner Riaz Hanif today.  The petitioner Roy Riaz Hanif could not appear in the court during the course of hearing of the case. The petitioner has taken plea in his petition that former President Asif Ali Zardari used derogatory remarks against former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry and ridiculed judiciary in his party public meetings. Zardari used the word of Dajjal, he added. He prayed the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against former President Asif Ali Zardari for giving insulting and negative statements against the judiciary.
