Singer Alvin Stardust dies aged 72

London (DM): Alvin Stardust has died aged 72. The singer and actor passed away after a short illness with his family around him, his manager confirmed on Thursday, having recently been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. Alvin’s death comes just weeks before he was meant to release his first studio album in 30 years, which he described as ‘the best thing he ever made.’ His manager, Andy Davis, confirmed to MailOnline that the new album would still be released: ‘Yes it will. He was very proud of it - telling me he thought it was the best thing he ever made.’ In a statement on his official website, Stardust confirmed his new album Alvin would be released in November.
