HAFIZABAD - The newly-posted DCO stressed the need for better cooperation between the district administration and media to address public problems in a better way.

Addressing the mediamen at Hafizabad Press Club here, DCO Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the district administration is determined to make Hafizabad a model district regarding good governance by removing encroachments and eliminating all irregularities from different departments.

Seeking journalists assistance, Mr Randhawa pointed out that having close contact with the public, the mediamen should highlight the public problems and also make suggestions for their resolution.

On the occasion, the mediamen urged the DCO to ensure better sanitary conditions and sewerage system in the district. They also apprised him of the current dilapidated condition of different roads, demanding their early repair.

Meanwhile, addressing the TMA officials in a meeting, Mr Randhawa directed the officials to launch a vigorous crackdown on encroachments and remove traffic hazards particularly from Fawara Chowk, Vanike Road, Alipur Road, Gujranwala Road and Raja Chowk. He also directed the Hafizabad TMO and the Chief Officer to improve sanitary conditions in the district. He also directed early removal of carts from Model Bazaar on Alipur Road to avoid traffic jam
