KARACHI - Sindh health Minister Dr Sikandar Ali Mandhro inaugurated a free vaccination at Baqai Medical University here at Gadap Town.

The organizers said here on Sunday that the programme was held under the auspices of Child Survival Programme Sindh.

Vaccination was administered to about 500 school children of Gadap Town studying at Baqai Primary school situated in campus of Baqai Medical Complex.

The school is being run under Dr. Zahida Baqai with all facilities provided free of cost to children of nearby residents.

The vaccination camp was followed by a seminar on ‘Ending Preventable Child Deaths’.

Earlier, Project Director Child Survival Program Dr M. N. Lal, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries, eminent personalities of Pakistan Pediatric community.

Health providers of Gadap Town, community and social workers of the area, pediatric doctors of Baqai university and medical students actively participated and exchanged knowledge on various aspects of Typhoid and other pediatric mortality parameters.

Project Director on the occasion informed strategic importance of Child Survival Program (CSP) and increasing dimension of its activities over the years in all over Sindh.

On the occasion he also shed light on various activities carried out over the year.

Dr Mandhro on the occasion appreciated the effort of CSP Sindh and called for working together of all stake holders for improving results and outcome of the government efforts.

He stressed on prevention, balanced nutrition and referred to Sindh government Nutritional support programs and various other initiatives of Sindh government.
