ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will submit dossiers on India’s intervention to the United Nations and other world bodies, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said on Monday.
Chaudhry, who was addressing a ceremony pertaining to the 71st anniversary of the United Nations, hoped the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan would submit its report over ceasefire violations by India along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
The foreign secretary said that the world body should play its due role in resolution of Kashmir issue for lasting peace in the region by ascertaining wishes of Kashmiris.
Chaudhry said that the issue of Kashmir is one of the oldest disputes pending in the United Nations, which should be resolved in light of the world body's resolutions.
To a question, the foreign secretary said that Indian unprovoked firing along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary was unfortunate, which should be stopped immediately.
Chaudhry said Islamabad always abide by the ceasefire agreement with New Delhi, but India always resorted to unprovoked firing, even on civilian population and Pakistan is compelled to respond.
On the Afghanistan issue, the foreign secretary said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan and is playing its due role in furthering the reconciliation process.
Chaudhry said quadrilateral group was formed to promote reconciliation in Afghanistan and all the countries are contributing in establishing peace, harmony, and reconciliation.
