KARACHI - A paramilitary Rangers personnel was gunned down by his colleague after a scuffle between the personnel in Shahrah-e-Faisal locality yesterday.

Police said that both Rangers personnel collided over some issue which resulting in one killing near Shahrah-e-Faisal police station. Ranger man Ali Murtaza gunned down Mashooq Ali over some dispute while his companion were managed to arrest the accused and handed over to police.

Police registered an FIR against him at Shahrah-e-Faisal police station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, on complaint of ranger official. Victim ranger man shifted to Jinnah postgraduate medical center where doctors pronounced him dead while his body was dispatch to his hometown after autopsy.

IGP for tight security

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, AD Khawaja, has directed that extraordinary security be maintained during the remaining days of Muharram.

A spokesman for the Sindh Police said here on Sunday that the IGP presided over a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) here to review overall security situation in the province.

The IGP also called for increasing snap checking and surveillance. He instructed that action against terrorists, criminals and their facilitators should continue with the same spirit in line with the National Action Plan.

The spokesman said all the DIGs were given commendation letters and awards for making foolproof security arrangements in Muharram.
