Bid to 'kidnap' another Afghan diplomat foiled

Commercial Consular of the Afghan Consulate Noor Muhammad has submitted an application at Tehkal police station in Peshawar for provision of security, reported a private TV channel Tuesday.   In his application, Afghan Commercial Consular said that he had escaped kidnapping attempt and should be provided full security. APP adds: NWFP Police have found an important clue in the kidnapping case of Afghan Ambassador-designate to Pakistan Abdul Khaliq Farahi that could prove helpful in his recovery, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) NWFP Malik Naveed Khan Tuesday. Talking to a private TV channel, he said, "Police found important clue last night, which can pave the way for the recovery of the Afghan Ambassador." He said police were making utmost efforts for early recovery of the Afghan ambassador.   To a question, he said Farahi was kidnapped by the elements who wanted to spread chaos and lawlessness in the country, besides damaging bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
