ISLAMABAD - During the three days of Eidul Fitr, more than 2,000 sanitary workers and supervisory staff of the CDA Sanitation Directorate remained on their duty to keep the city clean. The leaves of the CDAs sanitation staff were cancelled and they were put on round the clock duty. The Director General, Civic Management, CDA, Syed Mustafain Kazmi said that a comprehensive plan was chalked out for cleanup the city. The city was divided into three zones, i.e. Zone 'A, 'B and 'C which covered sectors from five to seven series, eight to eleven series and model towns, villages and surrounding areas respectively, he said. In addition to the 2,000 workers, more than 100 vehicles including trucks, dumpers, shovels, tippers, tractors, trolleys and compactors besides 1,500 handcrafts were deployed to meet the challenging task of maintaining cleanliness in the city, he added. The crew and staff of Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate of CDA also remained functional round the clock to respond to any untoward incident and eventuality. The Fire tenders and Fire crew including CDAs ambulance service 1122 were operational at Fire Headquarters, Fire Sub Stations and different points where the fire tenders and crew were detailed for the purpose. The CDA Chairman, Imtiaz Inayat Ellahi lauded the efforts of the sanitation staff in carrying out the massive operation and thanked the citizens in extending cooperation to sanitation staff in competition of cleanup operation successfully.
