LAHORE - The Janki Devi Hospital is closed for patients for the last 9 days but none of the govt authorities has taken notice of this and scores of pregnant patients who are in labour are being forced to go to other hospitals of the City. Young Doctors Association (YDA) office-bearers Dr Rana Sohail, Dr Salman Kazmi, Dr Ghulam Qasim, Dr Nabeel and Dr Khuda Bakhsh have demanded immediate suspension of the chairman ETPB Asif Hashmi and urged the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to issue orders for the reopening of hospital. It is worth mentioning that Janki Devi Hospital was constructed by donations by an assistant professor of KEMC and remained in control of Punjab Health Department till 1993 and was handed over to the ETPB. YDA officials have further added young doctors would be forced protest if the hospital is not reopened immediately.
