Deaf, dumb also join in protest


LAHORE – Religious, religio-political and political parties and various educational; institutions continued to hold demonstrations and rallies in the City on Sunday to protest against the anti-Islam movie made by a US filmmaker.
The Deaf and Dumb Wing of the Jammat-ud-Dawa held a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club to protest against the anti-Islam movie. A large number of deaf, dumb and blind students from various institutions of Lahore and its suburbs participated in the demonstration to vent their anger against blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Carrying banners inscribed with Kalima Tayyaba and placards and banners with slogans against religious terrorism, the US, Israel and Nato forces. Deaf and Dumb Wing Nazim Abdul Hameed Bhutta, Athar Aziz, Hafiz Usman, Khalid Mehmood, Naseer Akbar, Farooq Ahmed, Aziz-ur-Rehman, Ghazi Abu Saeed and ehsan Elahi Tabbasum addressed the participants through gestures of hands.
Amjad Ali conveyed the feelings of deaf and dumb speakers to blinds by translating these into words. The passerby showed keen interest in the proceedings and made videos on their mobile cameras. Addressing the participants, the speakers said special people were ready to render any sacrifice for protecting honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
They said that Jews and Christians were doing blasphemy to create unrest in Muslim countries. They said the rulers of Muslim countries were acting as stooges of the US against the sentiments of the masses. They also demanded hanging of the US filmmaker.
