LAHORE – At least five people were killed in as many incidents in different parts of the City, police said on Sunday.
As per details, a 40-year-old woman was crushed to death by rashly-driven vehicle in the Salamatpura area. The woman, later identified as Musarrat Bibi, was crossing Grand Trunk road when a vehicle hit her. She was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. The driver along with the vehicle managed to escape from the crime scene. In another incident, a 45-year-old man was recovered dead from the DHA area on Sunday. Police said the man, unidentified so far, was lying dead alongside a road in the Defence area as they reached the spot. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
A 22-year-old man was crushed to death by a truck in the Islampura area. Police said the youth, identified as Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Faisalabad, was crossing the road when the road mishap took place. The police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s family.
Muhammad Akram was on his way home when a recklessly driven car ran over him in the Kahna police vicinity. The man sustained serious injuries and died on the spot, while the driver along with the car fled away. The police are investigating.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from the Shera Kot area. Police said the man, unidentified so far, was lying dead alongside a footpath near the Babu Sabu interchange as they reached the spot.
