Peaceful protests more effective: Elahi


LAHORE - Deputy Prime Minister and PML-Q leader Ch Parvaiz Elahi said the peaceful observance of the Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool would have sent more effective message to the world.
Talking to the media at the residence of Federal Minister for Housing Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai after condoling with him the death of his brother Sardar Omar Nakai on Sunday, Pervaiz said the cabinet decision to observe the Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool was taken to convey to the world the sentiments of the Muslims over the heinous act, adding, if there were no riots, the message would have been more powerful and strong. Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak and Ch Shaafi Hussain were accompanying him.
The PML-Q leader said the interior minister pointed finger towards Punjab Police on the basis of some concrete evidence. He said the claimants of progress and development in Punjab had made the life of the people miserable, funds of the districts and other sectors were being wasted on flop project of bus service.
Pervaiz Elahi said if they had not shelved underground train project then its first line would have become functional this year. He questioned that why the Punjab government was worried and running from local bodies’ elections.
