LAHORE - World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan) signed an agreement with Lawrence College, Murree to create environmental awareness amongst students and employees and to facilitate their professional development through Green School Programme (GSP), ECO Internship Programme and Employee Engagement Programme.

WWF-Pakistan Director General Ali Hassan Habib and Lawrence College Principal Brig (r) Mujahid Alam signed the agreement. A GSP plaque and Markhor souvenir were presented to the college principal. Brig (r) Alam presented a shield and book to the WWF–Pakistan DG as a souvenir.

Over 700 students will participate under Green School Programme, aimed to foster a sense of individual responsibility and accountability in future generation of Pakistan towards nature conservation. The Green School Programme is aimed at ensuring future sustainability of environmental resources of the country by bringing a positive change in the attitude of youth.

Under the agreement, the Lawrence College will be accredited as a Green School by WWF-Pakistan after completing a year of hands-on activities including environmental awareness campaigns, eco-workshops, competitions, tree plantation drivers, etc. Each student of the college will also be registered as a Green Student. Faculty members of Lawrence College are also expected to participate in the Employee Engagement Programme. Registered students and faculty members will get a complementary membership of WWF-Pakistan.
