The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Multan announced the result of Intermediate Annual Examination, 2013 here on Monday, declaring 26,454 candidates successful out of a total of 50,593. The overall success ratio in the examination stood at 52.29 per cent.

The boys put up strong resistance to break girls’ hegemony on position table as they succeeded to clinch two out of three overall top positions. However, the overall first position was bagged by a student of a private college Ferheen Fatima Khan, Roll No-505554, who secured 1040 marks. NafeesRazzaq,Roll No-506903, student of a private higher secondary school, stood second with 1039 marks while Abu BakarNaeem, Roll No-515519, also student of a private college was declared third with 1038.  The students of government colleges failed to show distinction in the examination.

According to the result notification, a total of 7220 candidates took the examination under Pre-Medical Group and 6039 could get through with 83.64 per cent success ratio. Similarly, as many as 5616 out of 7825 candidates passed the examination with 71.77 per cent pass percentage in Pre-Engineering Group. The success ratio in General Science Group stood at 53.20 per cent as 2517 out of 4731 candidates qualified the examination. The number of successful candidates in Commerce group stood at 1898 out of a total of 3780 students. The pass percentage in this group stood at 50.21 per cent. The lowest success ratio was showed by the students in Humanities Group as just 10384 out of a total of 27037 candidates were declared successful with just 38.41 per cent pass percentage.
