LAKKI MARWAT - Headmasters and principals of government high and higher secondary schools appealed to the government to appoint additional science teachers to overcome the deficiency of teaching staff.

Headmasters and Principal Association President Pir Ghulam said this on the behalf of teaching staff. He was addressing a meeting at Tajazai District Headquarters Complex here on Monday. During the meeting he said the government schools lacked science teachers. He maintained that the previous government sanctioned additional posts of science teachers in July 2012 for each high and higher school and directed the authorities concerned to make recruitments without any delay. He regretted the science teachers could not be appointed despite a year has passed.

He told that many schools were in the dire need of science teachers and the current government should pay heed to it.  He also said the association raised the issue on different forums but to no avail. "Many students prefer to get science education but they cannot get it as the schools are lacking science teachers," he added. He said the government should accelerate the recruitment process as it takes a long time to get the teachers recruited through public service commission.
