LAHORE - All nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of Punjab on Monday announced the result of the Intermediate Part II.
In this regard a result announcement and prize distribution ceremony was held here at Alhamara by the BISE. The board chairman, Nasrulla Virk, announced the result. According to the chairman, 132,871 students appeared in the annual intermediate examination 2013 out of which 81,258 passed the examination setting the passing percentage at 61.15.
5590 students managed A+, 11064 A, 22158 B, 27076 C, 14492 D while 756 students maintained E.
In pre medical group (boys and girls), 14,206 students appeared and 12,340 passed the examination while the pass percentage was 86.86 %. In pre-engineering group (boys and girls) 16,337 appeared in examinations and 13,067 passed the examination, marking the passing percentage at 81.48%. In general science group, 12,053 students appeared and 7,389 passed the examination with 61.30pc pass percentage.
Toppers were given certificates and cash prizes and the overall topper was given lap top while the first position holder was given Rs 20,000 cash and gold medal, second was given silver medal and Rs15000 cash while third position holder was given Rs 10,000 cash and bronze medal. Adnan Hafiz and Khadeeja Khan were given gold medal for securing highest marks in the subject of psychology.
Asad Mumtaz with 1047 marks and, Hafiz Usman Tanveer with 1038 marks from Government College University (GCU) bagged the first and second positions respectively. Khadija Nadeem with 1038 marks from Government Kinnaird College for Women (GKCW) shared second position.
Hadia Tahir from GKCW and Ayesha Sikandar from Punjab College for Women, Muslim Town (PCW-MTL) shared the third position with 1037 marks each.
The chief guest of the ceremony, central leader PML-N Hamza Shahbaz while addressing the occasion said that said that Pakistani nation would never bow to terrorism. He said that problems like load-shedding, price-hike and unemployment could not shatter spirits and determination of our nation.
He said that country would soon achieve the goal of economic independence under the leadership of PM Nawaz Sharif and we would be able to live honourably in the comity of nations.
