KARACHI : Two ships C.V Maersk Columbus and C.V Alliance carrying containers were allotted berths at Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Meanwhile on oil tanker ‘Lahore’ carrying 65,361 tonnes furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period. Berth occupancy remained at the Port at forty three percent on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V Maersk Columbus, C.V Alliances, C.V MSC Didem, M.V Tamil Nadu, M.V Capital, M.T Lver Exact and M.T Al- Soor-II were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload, containers, fertilizer and diesel oil during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume 46231 tonnes comprising 39093 tonnes import, 7138 tonnes export inclusive containerized cargo carried in 575 containers (TEUs) (200 imports and 375 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Four ships C.V MSC Didem, C.V Alliances, M.T Lver Exact and M.T Al-Soor-II sailed out t sea during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V Nysted Maersk, M.T Maritime Lira and M.T Lahore carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Monday.

While C.V Maersk Kingston and C.V Hanjin Irene are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
