Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Secretary General Jahangir Tareen claimed that his party would win the by-election to be held on October 11 and prove that the general elections 2013 were rigged by the PML-N.

Instead of hiding behind the stay orders, the PML (N) should contest elections, he said. He added that the 126-day sit-in has awakened the people and eliminated the politics of deals from the country.

He expressed these thoughts while talking to the media in Bahawalpur at the residence of former union council nazim Malik Majeed Channar.

He said that the by-elections be held on time. In Lodhran, the number of PTI workers is increasing rapidly, he said adding that the PML-N performance of 2.5 years was in front of everyone. He said that during the N government, problems of people have increased. He added that the development funds of southern Punjab were spent on Metro project.

In the October elections, the public will prove that 2013 general elections were rigged. He added that Nandipur project ran for only 3 days on which Rs60 billion was wasted while the Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park will prove to be the second Nandipur. He further said after the address of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Vehari, the PML-N got scared and out of fear announced the “Kissan Package”. He added that PML-N made commissions from Metro projects.

To a question, he said that demand of deploying army officials inside and outside of the polling stations will make elections transparent.

He said that for Lodhran’s by-elections, the government officials are campaigning for the PML-N candidates and in this matter he has written to the departments concerned after pointing out the officials. On the occasion of Eidul Azha, he cleanliness and timely sweeping of the animals waste and shifting them to Bahawalpur Waste Management Company will be ensured, government officials claimed.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the supervision of Managing Director Muhammad Naeem Akhtar in Company officials. In respect to Eid cleanliness plan, a briefing was given during the meeting.

He said that during Eid all officials and sanitary staff’s holidays have been canceled and more than 800 workers will observe their duties. He added that on the occasion of Eidul Azha more than 25 camps throughout the city will be established where union council sanitary inspectors along with workers will remain present to serve the public.

For the public awareness free plastic bags and awareness pamphlets were distributed.

The company workers along with Social Work Department Islamia University students educated the people. He further said that for the public convenience and timely solution to the complaints, the Waste Management Company’s office will remain open for 24 hours.

On the other side, PTI leader Riaz Fatyana has blamed that rigging had been started by the ruling party in his area and instead of impartial officials, PML-N blue-eyed persons were being appointed as presiding officer and polling staffers for upcoming local bodies elections in Kamalia tehsel.

He was addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Kamalia Press Club, He claimed that government servants were also being threatened by PML-N leaders and activists that if they did not support PML-N candidates they will be transferred to far flung areas of the district. He said that PTI had lodged its complaint in this regard to Election Commission of Pakistan.
