LAHORE: The CIA Sadar police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested five gangsters involved in several dacoity bids in different parts of the city. A police spokesman said DSP Saeed Anwar Kingra arrested Shehzad alias Billoo and his accomplices Irfan alias Fani, Riaz alias Baba, Arslan and Sultan. Booty and illegal weapons was also recovered from their possession.–Staff Reporter
On their tip, the police recovered Rs1m cash and gold ornaments, weapons and other valuables.
The accused confessed to several attempts of street robberies, car snatching and other kinds of crimes. According to the spokesman, the accused have a violent history and had been involved in several crimes. They were jailed several times by the courts and reverted to committing crimes after release.
Cases have registered against them with different police stations including Nawab Town, Satto Katal, Johar Town, Iqbal Town, Millat Park, Chuhng and Sahdman.
