­AHMEDPUR EAST- The Higher Education Commission and the Pakistan Veterinary and Medical Council have included the College of Veterinary and Animals Sciences of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur among their recognised institutions for veterinary degree DVM.

In this connection, a list of 14 recognised universities has been published in various newspapers. Vice Chancellor Dr Qaiser Mushtaq felicitated Dean Sciences Dr Asgher Hashmi and other faculty members and students on this achievement. It is pertinent to mention here that the College of Veterinary and Animals Sciences was established at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 2006 to provide veterinary education to local youth and medical facilities for live stock of Cholistan and adjacent areas.
