LAHORE - Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has demanded strict action against the banned outfits using social media and other sources for collecting hides on occasion of Eidul Azha.

“It is responsibility of the government to stop banned organisation involved in terrorist activities to collect hided,” said Minhajul Quran Supreme Council chairman Dr Hassan Mohyiuddin Qadri while addressing the joint meeting of Central Executive Committee of the PAT here on Wednesday.

He said that it was disturbing to know that the banned outfits were fully operative and working under new names. He said they were campaigning to collect hides on Eid and were using the social media for this purpose. He said these outfits were the prime financial supporters of terrorists and under the National Action Plan action against them was of utmost importance.

He criticised the government for stopping funds allocated for Necta, the organisation supposed to be working against the terrorists. A resolution was passed in the meeting demanding that the government take strict action against those banned outfits that were using the social media to collect hides and to ensure foolproof security at all the mosques, Eidgahs and places where collective sacrifices are to be offered.
