ISLAMABAD - Rangers and police yesterday recovered weapons and military uniforms and arrested three persons including Haroon and Haris Rasheed, the two sons of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul who was killed in a military operation in 2007.
According to police at the Kohsar station, Haroon and Haris Rashid with their guard had just left their residence when law enforcers stopped their vehicle and carried out a thorough checking, upon which they recovered weapons and military commando outfits.
“We have recovered weapons and army uniforms from the car and arrested two sons of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi and their guard who were onboard the vehicle near Supermarket of Islamabad,” a police official.
They were immediately taken to the Kohsar police station where, sources said that further investigation was underway. They informed the police that they used the commando uniforms for hunting and photography and that they were on their way to Rajanpur.
