CHITRAL-Educational experts during a conference stressed a need for adopting modern methodology and technology in the fields of education, research and teaching.

Speakers including Canada based scholar Professor Dr Mir Baiz Khan were addressing Agha Khan School teachers’ regional research conference. Chitral Deputy Commissioner Usama Ahmad Warraich was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Professor Sahibuddin, principal of Post Graduate College of Commerce and Management Sciences.

Asadulla presented his paper on new skill of teaching of mathematics. Shafiqur Rehman spoke on exploring the connections between teacher and students. He said that teachers lead their students on right path.

Noor Shamsuddin presented his paper regarding violation and peaceful environment for education. He said that some 600,000 students left their schools due to militancy in the province. He said that teachers of Chitral play vital role in maintaining peace in the region.

Sultana Burhanuddin, principal of AKGHSS Koragh, highlighted progress of her school where 246 students are enrolled and 35 students got subject higher achievement distinction in 3 provinces of KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab.

Ayeen Shah, head of AKESP, highlighted professional development of teachers and termed it important for students learning.

DC Usama Warraich expressed his pleasure that a student of Koragh Girls School got first position in the whole country. He said that despite that students are facing great financial and social issues even then they get high position in examinations. He also expressed his disappointment on low ratio of successful stories. He said that although literacy ratio is high in Chitral but number of CSS and class one officers are very less as comparative to other districts and not parallel to education ratio in Chitral.

He announced for establishment of a free entry test preparation centre as it is very costly business in private sector.

Mukhtar Ali Khan, Jamil Ahmad, Jalaluddin, AKESP General Manager Khush Khan and CEO Farhan Bhayani also spoke on the occasion.
