LAHORE: Only one polling station at PMA House Lahore will cover the entire province in polls to elect office bearers of PMA Punjab chapter on September 25 (tomorrow).

PMA chapters in 18 districts have already been declared ineligible for participation in polls for not timely submitting lists of eligible voters. For remaining 18 districts, only one polling station has been set up in Lahore.

Dr Salman Kazi, ex-Joint Secretary PMA, has expressed concerns over the prevailing scenario. He said that it was a pity that no effort has been made to bring half of the province in electoral process.–Staff Reporter

He said that polling stations should have been set up at district or at least at divisional headquarters to facilitate voters. It would be difficult for voters in far flung districts to come to Lahore for exercising their right to vote, he said. As such, he said, large number of doctors would not be able to cast their vote on the polling day.
