PTI chief keeps flouting EC rules, says Pervaiz

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Friday said Imran Khan was persistently flouting rules of Election Commission and considered himself above the law.

In a statement, he questionned what kind of message, Imran was sending by continuously violating the rules of Election Commission and by putting himself above the law. He said Imran Khan thought that it was responsibility of others to abide by the law while he himself shredded the law into pieces.

He said the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N) respected the law and followed the rules of Election Commission in all the bye-elections and kept itself away from the election campaign. Imran Khan flouted all election rules and despite this, suffered defeat in the elections, he said, adding Pakistan Muslim League (N) stayed away from the election campaign and fulfilled its legal obligations. The minister said people reposed confidence in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on basis of his performance and service to the nation.

The minister said Election Commission should implement its election rules and provide equal opportunities to all sides participating in the polls. "We are waiting for justice from the Election Commission."
