President Dr Arif Alvi has urged the health professionals to pay attention to research work for the prevention of diseases.

Addressing the first Health Research Conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said research is also imperative to set targets for sustainable development.

The president said with precautions epidemics can be avoided and media should run a campaign to educate people. He said attention should be paid to nutrition to overcome the infectious diseases.
