Fahad Academy wins Jacob Harris Shield Inter School Cricket

KARACHI - Fahad Academy won the first Jacob Harris Shield Inter School Cricket Tournament by beating Shaheen Public School by 29 runs at PCB Academy Ground here the other day. Managing Director Sindh Industrial Trading State (SITE) Asif Margoob Siddiqui while distributing the prizes at the final also announced to sponsor Master Aziz Inter School Cricket Tournament to pay tributes to another great coach at school level who had produced cricketers like Hanif Muhammad, Muhammad Farooq, Mushtaq Muhammad, Ikram Elahi. Batting first Fahad Academy scored 236 for 9 in 40 overs. Imtiaz Aziz 66, Ziaul Haq 53 and Muhammad Khan 52 were the main contributors. Shakir Khan 4 for 58 and Zeeshan 2 for 20 bowled well. In reply, Shaheen Public School started off brightly making 181 for 2 through gallant knocks of 93 by Shakir Khan and 45 by Jahangir Khan. Zubair Adnan the left-arm leg spinner caused a dramatic batting collapse to change the complexion of the game bundling them out for 207 runs. Zubair Adnan took 4 wickets for 30 runs in just 5 overs. Asif Margoob Siddiqui donated Rs. 25000/- to the winning Fahad Academy and Rs. 15000/- to the runners up Shaheen Public School. He paid glowing tributes to the services being rendered by Prof. Sirajul lslam Bukhari, secretary KCCA, for promotion of cricket in Karachi. He also offered to sponsor another Inter School tournament to perpetuate the memory of another legendary coach Late Master Aziz. Prof. Sirajul Islam Bukhari in his welcome address, recounted the glorious services rendered by legendary school coaches Jacob and Harris and Master Aziz to produced cricketers like Hanif Muhammad, Mushtaq Muhammad, Wallis Matthias, Wasim Bari to name a few. He thanked Shoukat Ali, Collector Customs who sponsored the Jacob Harris Shield and praised Aftab Ahmed for successfully organising the 40-school tournament. Individual prizes sponsored by Irfan Khan of Golden Food Industries were given to members of the two teams by the chief guests.
