our staff reporter LAHORE - Provincial Agriculture Minister Ahmad Ali Aulakh has said that scientists should play their role in making the country self-reliant in agriculture production. In a visit to Barani Agriculture Research Institute Chakwal here on Sunday, he appreciated the services of agriculture scientists and showed keen interest in research activities. Director Barani Agriculture Research Institute, Dr Muhammad Tariq, briefed the minister about ongoing research activities. The minister was told that new wheat (Dharabi) had great immunity against diseases and drought and it was in the last phase of approval for sample sowing. The minister stressed the scientists to work for increasing the per acre yield of crops. He said farmers would also be provided with all possible facilities for the purpose.
