OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE With the rain giving system moving out and dry continental air prevailing over the region, the temperature has started rising in the plains of the country including the City. Considerable increase in the mercury level and the resultant demand and supply gap of electricity has enhanced miseries of the people across the country including the City. As no rain giving system is approaching the country during the coming week, mainly hot and dry weather is expected over the plains including the City. On Sunday, the mercury touched 40 degree Celsius mark in the City for the first the first time during the current summer. The minimum temperature was recorded 22 C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 47 percent which decreased to 24 percent in the evening. On Sunday, Larkana remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 46 C. According to the experts, dry continental air prevails over the region. However, Saturdays westerly wave over northeast of Iran on Sunday lies over north of Iran. Local meteorological department has forecast mainly hot and dry weather for most parts of the region including the City during the next couple of days.
