LAHORE The Postgraduate Medical Institute has invited applications from candidates for degree and diploma courses at national and international levels and application forms can be submitted till May 10, 2011. According to a handout issued here on Sunday, the PGMI also released application forms on its website with email address ' to facilitate the candidates in this regard. Talking to The Nation, PGMI Principal Prof Dr Tariq Salahuddin said that new session 2011-12 included advance courses of MS, MD, Mphil, and MDS and diploma courses. He added that FCPS-II training had also been included in the session. The principal observed that the PGMI was not only for the Pakistanis but also doctors from all over the world including Azad Kashmir were getting education from the institute for a very meager fee. Dr Salahuddin further said that MS courses included general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, neuro surgery, ENT, cardiac surgery, orthopedic, anesthesia, gynea, plastic surgery and in MD course were medicines, cardiology, peadiatric, radiology, dermatology, psychiatry. Mphil courses, he said, included anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and microbiology. Simultaneously, one-and-two-year diploma courses in 12 different fields were also being conducted, he noted. He clamed that the admission process would be transparent and based on merit, adding that no incomplete application would be entertained in this respect.
