LAHORE Acute shortage of potable water in Arjun Street Kacha Ferozpur Road has made the lives of the residents of such thickly populated locality of the city miserable. Unavailability of water not only caused massive nuisance for the residents but also for the Namizis during prayer timings in particular. However, the residents of the area submitted applications in the Wasa office, authorities concerned and requested the area MPA repeatedly but all in vain despite they promised the residents to resolve such a serious issue of the area. While giving details, the residents of the locality including Khawaja Muhammad Farooq, Sayed Muzafar Ali Shah, Muhammad Saeed Butt, Muhammad Idrees Sheikh, Muhammad Zulfiqar, Hafiz Sheikh Naeem, Abdul Rahim Butt Advocate, Muhammad Amir Qureshi, Muhammad Jaffar, Muhammad Abid and others said as the summer season starts, water disappears from the supply lines and situation sustains till August. The area people appealed the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take initiative in this regard and issue directions to the Wasa authorities for installation of new tubewell in Government Girls High School so that this problem of shortage of potable water could be resolved. They also appealed the CM to direct the Wasa authorities to make substitute arrangement for supplying water to the residents till the installation of new tubewell.
