Elections won't get delayed even for single day: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim reiterated on Thursday that the general elections, scheduled for May 11, would not get delayed even by a single day.
Presiding over a meeting to review security arrangements for the upcoming elections, the CEC said a comprehensive security plan has been prepared for the elections.
The meeting was attended, among others, by federal secretaries of interior, defense and law ministries, home secretaries of all the four provinces, DG FC, DG Rangers and IGs of four provinces.
The meeting also discussed security situation, especially in the context of recent bomb attacks in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar.
Ebrahim said that the Election Commission of Pakistan will take help from the Army and Rangers for maintaining law and order on the Election Day.
