FIA to seek Musharraf’s physical remand

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday decided to seek physical remand of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto assassination case.
“A Counter Terrorism Wing  team of the FIA investigating the Benazir Bhutto murder case has decided to seek physical remand from the Anti Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi,” as senior FIA official said on the condition of anonymity. He said that formal application would be submitted before the court today.  FIA sources said that the investigation team held a meeting at the FIA Headquarters on Wednesday in this regard.


which senior officer of CTW and FIA’s prosecutor general participated. The meeting discussed pros and cons of seeking physical remand of Musharraf — a pro-claimed offender in the case. It was decided in the meeting that physical custody of the accused would be sought from the court to complete the investigation process, the sources added.
