Lest we forget, one of the ‘towering achievements’ of the recent federal government was the destruction of sports in Pakistan during their short Governor’s rule in Punjab. It was on account of their diversion of police resources to a political ‘witch hunt’ that proper security could not be provided to the visiting Sri Lankan cricket. From that day foreign teams in all sports stopped coming to our country depriving the poor masses of one of the few remaining sources of recreation. I guess this should be added to the many other ‘proud’ landmarks which are being projected in huge front page advertisements funded from looted money by powerful and destructive political parties.
