LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif addressed South Asia Labour Conference in Urdu and English. The Chief Minister while terming untiring hard work of the labourers as essential for increasing national production quoted the saying of great Chinese leader Chuin Li that hard work has 80 percent role in development and prosperity of a country while 100 percent results can be achieved if it is combined with honesty. Students of a school presented a special tableau during the conference.
The Chief Minister liked the song very much Mehnatkash Hoon, Mehnat Hi Say Hay Apni Pehchan….. Azm-o-Himmat Daavat Apni, Kaam Mera Emaan.

However, the speakers of South Asia Conference also paid tributes to the steps of Punjab government. Ambassador European Union Lars Gunnar Wigemark said that politicizing any issue is easy but taking steps for change is difficult and CM Shahbaz is working in an excellent manner. The European Ambassador also lauded the policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at federal level. Director of International Labour Organization in Pakistan Ms Tine Staermose said that 25 percent of youth of the world is in South Asia and Shahbaz is taking effective steps for betterment of labourers. Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said in his welcome address that Shahbaz Sharif is a unique leader and he has focused his full attention to less-privileged segment of the society and laptops are being given mostly to those students who are not able to buy due to low income. He said that projects like Punjab Educational Endowment Fund and Daanish schools have been started for children of workers and labourers. Federal Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis, Raja Hassan Abbas and Punjab Secretary for Labour Cap (r) Muhammad Yousaf in their addresses threw light on the present and future projects of the federal and provincial governments.
Labour leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan while appreciating the comprehensive and logical speech of Chief Minister said that he is a labour-friendly Chief Minister in the real sense and making tremendous efforts for the welfare and betterment of working class. The Chief Minister in his speech said that the Ambassador of European Union Lars Gunnar Wigemark had asked him if he operates twitter account himself to which he replied that though he receives the messages on twitter, however, he prefers to dedicate his time for the betterment of the people instead of twitting.
