ATTOCK - Acting on the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan, the authorities in Attock district intensified the drive against the quacks and the unauthorized medical practitioners playing with the health and lives of people in rural areas.
They sealed as many as eight illegal clinics and got cases registered against the quacks for violating Drug Act and Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) 2010 Act. The officials led by Assistant Commissioner Marzia Saleem, District Drugs Controller Syed Tariq Shah and Deputy District Officer Health Dr Saeed Ahmed raided a house in Sheenbagh area and sealed an illegal maternity home being run by a female quack. They also sealed a homeopathic store, one medical store, one dental clinic and a laboratory in violation of Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) 2010 Act. In Jand tehsil, a health team led by Col (r) Badar and Deputy District Officer Health Dr Haroon Khattak sealed three dental clinics being run by quacks.
