Punjab govt approve Rs 1275 million for Benazir Hospital

Rawalpindi: Three important development schemes worth Rs 1275 million to extend the treatment facilities in Benazir Bhutto General Hospital have been approved by Punjab government.

The projects of modern operation theatre complex, two filter clinics, new pads block, VICU, diagnostic centre, pathology, radiology departments, parking plaza, nursing hostels and renovation of doctor hostels will be completed in the financial year 2018-19.

Implementation of these schemes had become indispensable due to day to day growing number of patients.
Punjab Government has approved these schemes under which state of the art central operation theatre complex will be built above officer’s ward while closing operation theatres operating in different wards of the hospital.

This scheme will cost Rs 610 million. New pads block with ICU, diagnostic centre, pathology laboratory, radiology department and two filter clinics will be set up in the new building being built at the cost of Rs 555 million in front of OPD department.

A parking plaza on parking site will also be constructed for safe parking and to deal with the increased problems of parking in future.

Doctor hostels will be renovated besides constructing new nursing hostel. This whole scheme will cost Rs 110 million.
