MULTAN-Chief of Awami Raaj Party (ARP) Jamshed Dasti declared on Tuesday that his party would launch a formal drive for Saraiki province at Multan public meeting on May 11.
Addressing a news conference here, he said that his party has filed application for permission for May 11 public meeting at Qila Qasim Bagh. He disclosed that president of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed and president of Pakistan Saraiki Party Malik Allah Nawaz Wains have been invited to the public meeting while leaders of other parties would also be extended invitations very soon.
He said that three times increase in NIC fee is a great injustice and he would raise voice against it in the assembly. He said that the NIC, which was being made for free, would cost the public Rs1500 now. He said that it is an unjust burden that the government put on the public before its departure.
He alleged that the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Nawaz Sharif and Ahsan Iqbal are enemies of Pakistan and they want to eliminate the poor from the country. He said that anti-Pakistan elements like Altaf Hussain, Asfand Yar Wali and others are favourites of Nawaz Sharif and his anti-Pakistan policies have been got unveiled. He urged upon the judiciary to take action against anti-Pakistan elements.
He lashed out at Nawaz Sharif and said that he has been proved guilty. “Now a strict action should be taken against this criminal and he should be silenced so that he cannot deliver speeches against the country,” he maintained. He asserted that Nawaz Sharif should be punished under Article 6 and he should be hanged. He said that Nawaz Sharif was proved thief, looter of national wealth and corrupt while his contacts with Modi were no more a secret too.
He said that the members of Janoobi Punjab Sooba Mahaaz are base coins. “They were licking the feet of Nawaz Sharif when I tabled Saraiki Province bill in the national assembly. No one except Shah Mehmood Qureshi is sincere to Saraiki Province,” he claimed. He said that the PPP did not support Saraiki province because it feared that a same demand from Sindh may arise. He said that the word Saraiki is identity of this region and it has nothing to do with lingualism.
He asked the government to stop its budget drama and refrain from presenting budget on May 31. “If they don’t stop this drama, we’ll not let the government present the budget,” he warned. He said that presenting budget is the responsibility of the upcoming government. He said that the poor, peasants and labourers have been crushed by price hike.
When asked if Imran Khan met with Prime Minister and Nawaz Sharif in London, he said that he might differ from Imran Khan’s policies but he is confident that Imran Khan could not shake hand with thieves.
MAYOR ON MULTAN UPLIFT
Mayor Multan Ch Naveed ul Haq Arrain has said that Multan is one of the oldest living cities of the world and its development and prosperity stands at the top of local government.
Talking to a delegation of Mutahidda Milad Council here at his office on Tuesday, he declared that special development fund would be allocated for Eid Miladun Nabi. He said that special steps would be taken to resolve problems faced by the Milad Council. He asked the members of the delegation to remind him of his commitment before Eid Milad so that budget could be allocated. He said that all city roads would be repaired before Eid Milad.
