LAHORE - Electronic goods worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at an electronic factory in the Walton area, here on Saturday. According to a Rescue-1122 spokesman, the fire started at the assembling line of the factory. Rescue teams reached the site and started rescue operation. The firefighters extinguished fire after a three-and-a-half hours operation. All labourers and staff at the factory were safely rescued. The Lahore commissioner has set up a committee to probe the fire incident. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had also ordered the firefighting units, Rescue-1122 and other departments concerned to put out the fire at the earliest. The CCPO Lahore had also directed the police force to help in the rescue efforts.
