LAHORE - PML-N MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed has said if the government fails to try Gen (r) Musharraf under article 6 of the Constitution, it will give a way to the next martial law in the country. He expressed these views at the Aiwan-e-Waqt here on Monday. He said that Supreme Court (SC) verdict on July 31 had provided a golden opportunity for the Parliament to try Musharraf under treason case. He termed Musharraf as nation criminal who turned the Constitution upside down, derailed democracy, hatched conspiracy of Kargil, carried bloodshed at Jamia Hafsa and Lal Masjid, and fanned terrorism and extremism in the country. He asked the PPP-led government to play its active role in the trial of Musharraf instead of waiting a go ahead from the MQM and PML-Q, who supported the dictatorial rule. He warned if Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani did not take action against Musharraf, he would be considered his (Musharraf) accomplice. To a question, he said that party re-organisation had to start in January but it got delayed after the imposition of Governor Rule in the province. He hoped that the process of party re-organisation would resume after Ramazan.
